Redeemed

He fell out of the covering
Walked with ungodly Men
Forsook the ways of the Lord
The enemy ever vigilant discerns
Strategises to attack him
The one called Legion
Went out amongst Men 
While Mortals slumbered 
Legion went to steal 
Kill and destroy
But alas 
The Angel of the Lord 
stood guard 
Watching over 
The Lord's anointed 
Legion cried out 
"Depart from him 
For he is a sinful man"
Gabriel replies 
"The Lord sends his Angels 
to watch over his anointed"
Legion ponders and says 
"Did not the Lord your God say 
I have taken away 
My loving kindness 
and tender mercies?"
Gabriel ripostes "he hath remembered 
his mercies towards his house"
 Legion advances 
 To strike the one 
 Who still delights 
 In the Lord's mercies
 Gabriel rebukes him saying 
 "touch not the Lord's anointed
 The Lord has not permitted it" 
 Alas, a swift battle ensures 
 Unlike the one Daniel records 
 It ends with Legion shackled 
 lugged in chains 
 The Lord's anointed slept
 Redeemed from destruction
 Still crowned 
 with the mercies of God 
 He woke 
 renewed like the Eagle 
 And went out singing 
 Of the mercies of the lord 
 For the Lord's mercies 
 Endureth forever

lol. Very interesting piece. I struggled a bit to catch at the beginning but smiled through to the end.

This is interesting...I love your tone. "Legion" I don't think I have heard anyone describe Satan like that, very original.

Despite everything...

Today I got a compliment about how lovely my hands are. I couldn't help the first words out my mouth,  "These hands?" I asked while shaking my fists in the attendants face. He nodded in the affirmative. Hours later I kept pondering on my earlier interaction. Was his compliment genuine or a product of pure courtesy? Maybe it was just an offhanded comment because I am positive he had only glanced at my hands.  Later that evening I took a good look at my hands. I've had them for 25 years but I have never taken the time to look at them, really look at them. Talk more of admiring them. I use them alright, run them through my hair when I'm frustrated, use them to receive parcels and give some family and friends a handshake or pat on the back here or there.  But look at them? really look at them? I never have.  Yes I glance at them... Occasionally. The longest I've had to look would be while washing my hands. Maybe while tying my shoelace, taking notes or buttoning m...
