3 Ways To Perfect The Art Of Getting What You Want
Well, A is for August, and the beautiful eighth month of this peculiar year may pretty much have come with that Ah!!! effect for many. This depends of course on which side of the scale you are standing. Ah! How in heavens name is 2020 going so fast? Oh my, I'm behind on my goals! I don't think I can do it. Well, I may pretty much just wait till 2021 and then just swing into action.
Then, there sure are those who are completely unfazed by the rapid ticking of the clock, the seeming dwindling of the economy, and the peculiarities of the year. Why? It's simply because these are the ones who understand that if you want a thing. You go get it. The ideology of good things come to those who wait really doesn't cut it anymore. A public figure that I admire a lot once said that success is not owned, it is rented and the rent is due everyday. So, before you write off 2020 and call it a no show, let's understand that you can positively change things for yourself before the clock strikes 12 on December 31st. Having said that, let's talk about three ways to get what you want.
1) Never Subject Your Goals To The Skepticism Of Mediocrity:
I'm going to be brutally blunt here. One truth about life is the fact that misery loves company. How many times have you put pen to paper to set goals, and said, I'm going to grow my account to seven figures before a certain time line. I'm going to work out so hard that I will look like a Greek god, or I'm going to buy a certain property, write a book or do something great for myself. Then, you just whispered it to the wrong person and that person pokes holes in your goals and you end up second guessing yourself? How many opportunities have you missed simply because of a Nay Sayer? Now, I'm not saying that you should go about without seeking advise. I'm saying that if you desire to be a seven figure earner for instance, then you'll best get yourself mentored by a seven figure or eight figure earner instead of subjecting your goals to the scrutiny of those who can't dare to dream as big. Remember, it’s best to nibble on greatness crumbs than feed fat from a heaped plate of mediocrity.
2) Make Your Goals S.M.A.R.T:
It's one thing to dare to dream. It's quite another thing to make your dreams realities. To achieve what you desire, your goals must be S.M.A.R.T. They must be Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and they must have a Timeline. Without these, you will likely find yourself in a limbo without being able to achieve anything.
3) Be Impressively Good That They Can’t Ignore Or Replace You:
There's something dangerously charming about an individual who doesn’t really have to defend what he or she brings to the table, because results and value speaks for itself. Whatever your chosen line of trade is, remember to constantly invest in yourself. Take self improvement courses, be a master of your trade, and become so good that you just can't be ignored. Then, watch things gradually take shape.
So, people on that note, you should remember that you are the captain of your ship. The goals are yours, and the will to achieve them should erupt from within and drown out your fears. Till next time, I'm sending you all light and love.
