Monday Motivation - Plan, Be prepared
"Preparation is a non-negotiable requirement for any endeavor" - Bishop David Oyedepo
What are your goals for 2020? Have you set forth the framework required to achieve these goals?
You want a promotion? Have you put in the work to make yourself deserving of the new position?
Desire better grades? Have you dedicated enough time to studying?
Want to break a bad habit? Have you started refraining?
Trying to get over a toxic partner? Have you closed all communication channels?
Need a miracle? Do you have faith?
In life, you must plan and be prepared to work towards whatever you seek to achieve. In the famous words of Benjamin Franklin, "by failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail". Being unprepared means that you never get to where you want to be. You'll dilly-dally and never get anything done.
Whatever it is you seek to achieve you must take the necessary steps or at the end of the day you'll be exactly where you started. There's no magic to it, you must put in work to attain results. There's a defined process for things, you can't bail on the hard work and expect results.
It's the big 2020, you have great goals, big things you hope to achieve. But have you put in the groundwork necessary for getting your goals to become your reality?
See it this way, an athlete who has a big competition, practices day and night in order to attain the best position on the scheduled day of the event.
A Preacher does not address His congregation without first preparing a Sermon.
A Business tycoon does not make big moves without first making a plan and preparing Himself.
If you desire a Child you do not sit in one place and expect to see a Baby dropped in your lap. You take the necessary actions, from conception to stocking up on necessaries for the Baby's care to setting up a room to house the child on his arrival. Or you go to the adoption agency and fill out the necessary paper work.
It's simple, you get what you want because you did not sit in one place with your arms folded, you had a goal and sprung into action.
You have goals for the year? Great! But have you taken the necessary steps for their actualization? You must stop sitting on your hands and take the first step. "Good fortune is what happens when opportunity meets with planning" - Thomas A. Edison
Its one thing to dream big and talk bigger and another thing to plan, prepare and execute. After outlining your goals take action! Go a step further and place yourself in the best possible position to attain said goals.
Finally, being prepared cannot be overemphasized. When you plan and prepare nothing really takes you by surprise. Yes, you may experience a few bumps here and there but ultimately you'll follow through on your goals because you have a plan and you are prepared.
You already know the steps necessary for the actualization of your goals, so start now. Do not wait for when it is convenient, start immediately and step by step it becomes a part of your routine. Next thing actualization of that great goal is in sight!
Have a great and productive week!
