Beyond Your Control

Once, I was watching a program on AIT when suddenly the Station scrambled for a minute. When it came back on the lady said: "we sincerely apologize for that, it was circumstances beyond our control". I couldn't help thinking that maybe NEPA (generally accepted slang for Power Holding Company in Nigeria) Interrupted the power supply. And guess, the program being aired was one focusing on Nigeria's many problems.
Well, the point here is that sometimes things happen, things you have no control over and it's totally okay to just accept it and move on. Asking questions and fretting won't reverse it, crying won't reverse it, the best you can do is damage control. Swing into action immediately and prevent other undesirable outcomes.

Of course, sometimes Crying and a couple of 'God why' may make you feel better but in the end, it changes nothing. You're still left with the status quo. Often times our dilly-dallying can create further problems. That popular saying goes 'what will be will be' the other side of this, I imagine is that if you are not careful it may become a case of what is not to be coming to be all through your lapses.

You must understand that you are human and certain things are beyond your scope of control, accepting this helps you to move on from tragedy, mistakes (both avoidable and unavoidable) as well as any unwanted or undesirable outcome your actions or inactions bear. You can stop blaming yourself and overstressing when something bad happens, you can pick yourself up and move on with the assurance that good things too will come.

Of course, it's not easy to just accept things like that as life throws them at you without lamenting, but you must train yourself to only dwell on the positive. Whenever you catch yourself dwelling on the bad and hopeless force yourself to focus on something good and pleasant. Direct your mind to some other thing, could be your work, a book, a movie whatever will take your mind off dwelling on negativity.

It's best to focus on that which you can control and not allow things beyond your scope of control to stress and overexert you.

Have a great week ahead and remember to be the best version of yourself!

This is beautiful... Reminds me of my favorite Bible portion. Philippians 4 vs 6. Some situations usually resolve themselves if we let it be. There's a greater power above them all. Thank yhu for the reminder.
