Motivation Monday
One time when I was little, my mum spanked me for something I did or rather shouted at me; I can't remember which but immediately after the ordeal I decided I was fed up and tired of living in that house. So guess what this little girl did. Burn the house down? Kill the family pet? Be mischievous?
No. No. No and No. I had a better plan, I decided to go to heaven and be with God since she obviously didn't want me anymore.
So I went to the drug cabinet (I'm guessing everyone has that at home), I took one of each drug I found there, normally I hate drugs so I must have been pretty desperate, got water and washed it down.
Please laugh with me, I guess watching too many Nigerian film has its perks. After that I took my bath, ate (cos I can't be going to heaven hungry: who knows how long the journey will last). I proceeded with brushing my teeth, very important can't be going there with smelly mouth either, and then I got dressed and went to sleep.
Brethren, my brothers and sisters in the lord, I was on my way to heaven.
You could imagine my shock when I heard my mother's voice calling my name, my first thought was "Okay God, this film trick isn't funny. I'm finally in heaven and she still followed me to take me back to earth?". I kept thinking if God was punishing me for the one time I ate my friends crayon.(Story for another time anyways).
My disappointment knew no bounds when I opened my eyes and realized I was still on Earth. I had 'tushed' up for no reason and that Nigerian movie was a lie. You just can't drink medicine and die like Liz Benson did. Well guess whose face I saw first first, who came to wake me up,
My Mum.
As I grew older I realized I'm stuck with my mum in this life for good. Like couples, this is a till death do us part deal.
Moral of the story
1. Little girls are very dramatic and their imagination spans the globe.
2. When you scold your child and they go to sleep make sure you personally go to wake them up (so they know they're stuck with you forever)
3. Most importantly, follow the instructions: keep all medications out of reach of children.
4. We can't run away from our problems. They are stepping stones to our progress.
5. Mothers are a forever deal
7. You can't just drink medicine and die like Liz Benson did
