Another side of reality

I find myself in a parking lot, at least that I am sure of. I'm in a parking lot sitting in a car. Not that any of this makes sense to me but the building before me looks like a school, a bell rings faintly in the premises. I can't understand why I'm sitting behind a steering wheel in a school compound, I can’t even drive! Kids start pouring out of the building heading towards the parking lot, two kids are actually headed my way, now this is getting scary. They are both so cute and they both smile at me, deciding to go with the flow I step out of the car; the unknown vehicle, and smile back at them. From my guess two of them range from six(6) years to four(4) years. They rush toward me shouting ‘mummy' (i feel cheated, I have always wanted four). In all these, i'm stunned, to the best of my knowledge I'm still a 21 years old, with no known kid(s) trying to round up my program at the university.

Obviously unaware of my shock they start talking to me all at once, my daughter (apparently) pulls my attention from my son, (who I'm still admiring trying to figure out which of my numerous boyfriends I ended up with) asking if she could wear my beret. I answer in the affirmative, still confused. My son pulls my hand towards the car (damn! Such a nice car) he's shouting for us to head home. I climb into the car to find my daughter wearing a beret with an Air force insignia (yay! This happens to be the only right thing here, I must have actualized my dreams of joining the Air force).

I'm driving out of school on an expressway (well surprise! I can drive), I know it's Nigeria but I do not recognize the city. My phone starts ringing, the name on the screen reads 'hubby'. I'm only too happy to reach for it and perhaps find answers to this bizarre experience. As I stretch my hand towards the phone, I feel myself falling, falling through a void. My kids start screaming and reaching out for me but I keep falling, falling in confusion. Can this get any weirder?! I ask myself.

I get a really rough landing, amidst jerks and mumblings I finally hit a surface. my bed! waking up to the sight of familiar surroundings. I realize it must have been a dream or perhaps a glimpse into the future, I chose the latter. I immediately drop to my knees shouting seventy-two (72) Amen!
